A Moroccan cooking class among the olive trees, near Marrakech
On the outskirts of Marrakech, far from the noise of the city, our partner welcomes you in a large garden planted with olive trees. You cook outdoors, as you would at home, traditional Moroccan and Berber dishes.
You choose the spices, prepare your tajine and pastries, then sit down to enjoy what you've cooked. A simple, friendly experience to share as a couple, with friends or with family.

Cumin, ginger, turmeric, ras el hanout... We explain what each spice is for and how much to use. It's the secret of Moroccan cooking.
The traditional tajine
You prepare your tajine from start to finish: the vegetables, the meat, the spices, then the slow cooking in the clay dish. With techniques passed down from generation to generation.
Pastries and the meal
You also make local pastries. Then everyone sits down at the table, under the olive trees, to share the meal you've cooked.
How the class works
- Late morning : a driver picks you up near the riad and takes you to our partner's home, on the outskirts of Marrakech.
- The welcome : your host greets you in the olive garden.
- The class : choosing the spices, preparing the tajine and the pastries, at your own pace and with your host's advice.
- The meal : you have lunch together, eating the dishes you've just prepared.
- Early afternoon : back to the riad.
Price and what's included
350 DH per person.
Included : round-trip transport from the riad, the class, the ingredients and the meal you've cooked.
The class is held in a small group, in French, English or Arabic. The dishes are traditional Moroccan or Berber recipes chosen by your host: there is no à la carte menu.
Cancellation : any class not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance will be charged.

Do I need to know how to cook?
No, not at all. The class is for everyone, beginners and experienced cooks alike. Your host guides you through every step.
Can children take part?
Yes, children are welcome. They love getting their hands dirty, especially for the pastries.
What language is the class in?
In French, English or Arabic.
I have an allergy or a special diet, what should I do?
Let us know when you book. We'll pass the information on to our partner.
How do I book?
Write to us with the date you'd like and the number of people. We organise everything and confirm the departure time. Any class not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance will be charged.
Can I take part if I'm not staying at the riad?
No. The cooking class is reserved for Riad Malika guests.
